End Time

Opening/Centering: students will share their song choice with the class; Group posture: pinwheel-each student takes supine position and selects one niyama and recites the intention for that niyama to themselves. Group: 5 sun salutations, one for each niyama, speaking the intention for each aloud: Saucha-purity: I choose my thoughts, words and actions carefully, so that my behaviour helps me and others to feel good. Santosha-contentment: Breathibgn in, I am content. Breathing out, I am at peace in this very moment. Tapas-creating heat/energy: through daily practice and self-discipline, I enjoy radiant health and the fulfillment of my dreams; Swadhaya-personal growth and study of self: when I listen to my intuition, the right answer emerges within me. Ishwara Pranidhana-love: I surrender to the energy of love that is around me and within me, supporting me always. Students work individually or in partners to come up with a pose that reflects one of the Niyamas. Closing: choose one of the songs shared with a seated meditation with 4/6-8 breathing. OM work: Journal entry: reflect on the Niyama that you would like to focus on for the next week. How will you make this practice part of your daily life? DUE: April 21st.
